Introduction

My name is Alexa Levesque, and I am a freshman Elementary Education/Psychology major here at URI. I'm originally from Warwick, Rhode Island where I live with my mom and brother, but I am living on campus in Heathman Hall. I have always loved working with children, even when I was a child myself, I would always help my friends with their homework, or assist younger children with games, sports etc. Most recently I have worked as a camp counselor for 3-6 year olds, and this is where I discovered my passion for teaching. I find it amazing how teaching someone one seemingly insignificant lesson can change their lives, and in turn, brighten my own. I am so excited to learn everything that I can and begin my career. I love playing volleyball and hope to join an intramural team to keep playing. I listen to country music like it's my job, will watch just about anything on TV and I could probably recite The Notebook verbatim. I also think I'm really funny and I laugh at all of my own jokes.
